Jim Phelps is an award-winning designer with a lifetime of experience designing elegant homes. A child art prodigy, he grew up in a family of designers and builders where his love for design was instilled at an early age. Passionate and driven, Jim’s first home design was built when he was just 18 years old.

Jim founded custom home design firm Carolina Design Group in the 1990s. Since then, the company has grown into one of the nation’s top residential design firms. Under Jim’s leadership, Carolina Design Group has created more than 1,000 custom homes in some of the country’s most prestigious neighborhoods. Jim’s designs have graced the pages of numerous trade and lifestyle magazines and have been awarded multiple building industry accolades.
